Privacy policy

Chittu collects nothing about you. This policy explains exactly what each version reads, where its requests go, and what this website does.

Effective 8 October 2026 · Last updated 8 October 2026

Who we are

Chittu is made by Happycoders Private Limited, 8/275, Selvin Street, Karungulam, Thoothukudi, Tamil Nadu 628615, India (“HappyCoders”, “we”). Contact: info@happycoders.in, +91 87789 05772.

This policy covers Chittu for Mac, Chittu for Windows, the Chittu extension for Chrome and Microsoft Edge, and this website, chittu.happycoders.in.

What we collect

Nothing. Chittu has no account, no sign-in, no analytics, no crash reporting, no advertising and no tracking. We do not collect, store, sell or share personal information, and no image you process is ever sent to us. There is no Chittu server.

Chittu for Mac and Windows

The desktop apps read images from your disk, process them on your computer and write the results back to your disk. They make no network requests: no update check, no licence check, no analytics and no crash reporting. They work with Wi-Fi off. Updates come from the store you installed from.

The Chrome and Edge extension

Images you pick from your own computer are processed in your browser and saved to your Downloads folder. They are never sent anywhere.

When you scan a web page or a whole site, the extension fetches that site’s own pages and images from that site’s own servers, the same way your browser does when you visit. Nothing is sent back, and nothing is sent to us or to anyone else.

Permissions. At install the extension asks for: activeTab and scripting (to list the images on the page you open Chittu on, after you click its icon), sidePanel (its interface), offscreen (to run the image encoders, which are part of the extension), downloads (to save your files), storage (to remember your settings on your device) and contextMenus (the “Compress this image” right-click entry). Access to a website is optional: Chittu asks for one website at a time, only when a scan needs it, and you can remove it at any time in your browser’s extension settings.

The extension loads no remote code. Every encoder ships inside the package.

Data stored on your device

Your settings, and the state of a batch that is running, are kept in the app’s or the browser’s own storage on your device. So is a small counter for the one-time request to rate Chittu. Removing Chittu removes all of it.

This website

chittu.happycoders.in is a static page. It has no forms, no analytics, no advertising, no tracking and no cookies. Our hosting provider (Hostinger) may keep standard server logs, such as IP address, time and page requested, for security and reliability, deleted on a routine schedule.

Children

Chittu is not directed at children under 13. We knowingly collect no information from anyone, including children.

Your rights

Because we hold no data about you, there is nothing to access, correct or delete. If you believe otherwise, write to info@happycoders.in and we will respond within 30 days.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we will update the date at the top of this page. A change that would collect any data would need a new version of the app or extension, and this page would say so before it shipped.
